Extensions

An extension is a folder somebody else made that adds a panel, effects, or both. It holds an extension.json, and Lumit shows its web page in a panel of its own. Its effects are LFX effects. To make one, see Make an extension.

Settings ▸ Addons ▸ Extensions ▸ Install from a folder takes the folder that holds the extension.json. Lumit lists what the extension asks to be allowed, and copies it only after Install. Installing over an extension of the same id replaces it.

A package, a .lfx file, installs with a double-click, by dropping it on the window, or from Settings ▸ Addons ▸ Extensions ▸ Install a package. The window lists the effects it adds and where it goes. Change… puts it in another folder, which Lumit then looks in too.

Double-clicking a package while Lumit is open sends it to the open Lumit.

Window ▸ Extensions lists every installed extension with a panel, ticked while its panel is in the arrangement. The panel docks, tabs and saves with a workspace like any other. An extension’s effects are in the Effects menu under their categories.

Remove deletes the extension’s folder. What its page stored is kept. An extension in the machine-wide folder or an added folder is left where it is.
