In the Effect Controls panel:
- Matte scales Completion per pixel: the hand has swept further where the matte is bright, so a grey ramp opens the wedge unevenly and a black matte holds the frame back. Invert reads that matte inverted.
What each control does
Section titled “What each control does”- Wipe centre x and Wipe centre y position the wipe’s centre.
- Completion is how far the sweep is, as a percentage.
- Start angle is the direction the sweep begins from.
- Wipe chooses which way the wedge opens.
- Feather softens the sweeping edge.
- Mix: how much of the result replaces the original.
- Matte and Invert drive the strength of the effect from another layer’s brightness; see Effects.
