What each control does
Section titled “What each control does”- Mask: which of the layer’s masks to draw.
- Colour: the brush’s colour.
- Brush size: how wide the brush stroke is.
- Brush hardness: how crisp its edge is.
- Spacing: how far apart brush stamps are.
- Start and End: beginning and end points for the brush stroke.
- Paint style: what the stroke lands on. On original paints over the layer; On transparent keeps the stroke and makes the rest of the layer transparent; Reveal original keeps the picture only where the brush appears and hides the rest.
- Opacity: how strong the brush is.
- Mix: how much of the result replaces the original.
- Matte and Invert drive the strength of the effect from another layer’s brightness; see Effects.
