In the Effect Controls panel:

  • Matte scales Angle per pixel: white twirls the full Angle, grey less, black not at all. Invert reads that matte inverted.
  • Angle: the amount to rotate around the centre.
  • Radius: how wide the circle is.
  • Centre X and Centre Y: the centre point of the twirl.
  • Mix: how much of the result replaces the original.
  • Matte and Invert drive the strength of the effect from another layer’s brightness; see Effects.
