In the Effect Controls panel:

  • Matte widens Line period per pixel: white keeps the set period, grey spreads the lines apart, black spreads them too far to see. Invert reads that matte inverted.
  • Intensity: how dark the scanlines get.
  • Line period: the height of one light-and-dark pair.
  • Roll speed: how fast the pattern travels up or down the frame.
  • Interlace offset: alternates which half of each period is darkened.
  • Mix: how much of the result replaces the original.
  • Matte and Invert drive the strength of the effect from another layer’s brightness; see Effects.
