Median is a Stylise effect.


What it does
Section titled “What it does”Every pixel is replaced by the median value of a square of pixels around it.

In the Effect Controls panel:
- Matte scales Radius per pixel: white takes the middle of the full window, grey of a smaller one, black leaves the pixel alone. Invert reads that matte inverted.
What each control does
Section titled “What each control does”- Radius: the size of the square to pick the median from.
- Operate on alpha: enables median working on the alpha channel as well as colour.
- Mix: how much of the result replaces the original.
- Matte and Invert drive the strength of the effect from another layer’s brightness; see Effects.
