The Align panel
The Align panel holds two grids of nine dots, one for each corner, edge middle and the centre of a layer’s box. Window ▸ Align opens it.
| Grid | A dot does |
|---|---|
| Anchor point | Moves each selected layer’s anchor point to that point of its box. The picture stays where it is. |
| Composition | Moves each selected layer so that point of its box meets the same point of the composition: top left to top left, centre to centre. |
- A click is one undo step for the whole selection.
- A layer whose Anchor point or Position is keyed keeps its anchor point, and a notice says so.
- A layer whose Position is keyed stays put under Composition.
- The grids are greyed with nothing selected, or only cameras, lights and audio layers.
- Nothing moves unless a Viewer showing the composition is open.
