Lighting

Lighting is a Stylise effect.

Every clear pixel looks towards the light for something opaque in the way, and is in shadow when it finds it. The layer’s own pixels are brightened by the light, more the closer they are to it.

Shadows fall only inside the layer’s picture. Things thinner than a 48th of Length can be missed.

  • Light position: where a Point light sits.
  • Angle: the direction a Directional light shines.
  • Length: how far a shadow reaches.
  • Fade: how much a shadow thins on the way.
  • Shadow colour: the shadow’s colour and opacity.
  • Light colour: the colour the layer’s pixels are brightened by.
  • Light intensity: how much they are brightened.
  • Light radius: how far a Point light reaches before it brightens nothing.
  • Mix: how much of the result replaces the original.
  • Matte and Invert drive the strength of the effect from another layer’s brightness; see Effects.
