Gradient map
Gradient map is a Colour effect.
What it does
Section titled “What it does”Reads how bright each pixel is and paints it from the ramp, dark from Position 0 and bright from Position 100. The layer keeps its own transparency.

What each control does
Section titled “What each control does”- Source: what is read as brightness, the luminance or one channel.
- Reverse: runs the ramp the other way, bright from Position 0.
- Interpolation: how one stop meets the next. Smooth eases between them, and Constant holds each colour until the next stop.
- Stops: how many colours are used, from Colour 1.
- Colour 1 to Colour 5 and Position 1 to Position 5: each stop’s colour, and where it sits on the ramp. Stops are sorted by Position.
- Mix: how much of the result replaces the original.
- Matte and Invert drive the strength of the effect from another layer’s brightness; see Effects.
