Contrast is a Colour effect.
What it does
Section titled “What it does”Pushes or pulls brightness values from mid-grey.

In the Effect Controls panel:
- Matte is an input to an effect, scaling the strength. Invert inverts the mattes for calculating strength.
What each control does
Section titled “What each control does”- Contrast controls the intensity of the effect. 100 is neutral, 0 flattens the picture to grey and 200 doubles the distance every value sits from mid-grey. The response is finest near 100 and coarsens towards either end.
- Mix: how much of the result replaces the original.
- Matte and Invert drive the strength of the effect from another layer’s brightness; see Effects.
