RGB split is a Distortion effect.

Offset the colour channels from one another separately. Or use the wavelength based approach to achieve a smooth colour split.

In the Effect Controls panel:

  • Matte scales Amount per pixel: white splits the channels the full distance, grey less, black not at all. Invert reads that matte inverted.
  • Amount: the amount to offset each channel by, or the overall wavelength split amount.
  • Angle: what direction the split should occur in.
  • Red, Green and Blue: adjust split scaling per channel.
  • Colour 1, Colour 2 and Colour 3: the tints on the channels.
  • Wavelength: switches from the three colour channels to a smooth dispersion.
  • Samples: how many taps fill the offset while Wavelength is on.
  • Mix: how much of the result replaces the original.
  • Matte and Invert drive the strength of the effect from another layer’s brightness; see Effects.
