Combine channels
Last updated
Combine channels is a Compositing effect.
What it does
Section titled “What it does”Combine channels builds one picture from the pictures on its Red, Green, Blue and Alpha sockets. Each channel of the result is one channel of the picture on that socket, the luminance unless its row picks another. An unwired Red, Green or Blue reads as nothing, and an unwired Alpha reads as fully opaque, so three pictures make an opaque one. It is a box in a node graph composition and is not offered on a layer’s stack. It is Split channels in reverse.
Parameters
Section titled “Parameters”| Parameter | Control | Range | Default | Unit |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Red from | Dropdown | Luminance · Alpha · Red · Green · Blue | Luminance | - |
| Green from | Dropdown | Luminance · Alpha · Red · Green · Blue | Luminance | - |
| Blue from | Dropdown | Luminance · Alpha · Red · Green · Blue | Luminance | - |
| Alpha from | Dropdown | Luminance · Alpha · Red · Green · Blue | Luminance | - |
What each control does
Section titled “What each control does”- Red from, Green from, Blue from, Alpha from: which channel of the picture on that socket makes the channel of the result. Luminance reads the brightness, so the greyscale pictures from Split channels and any colour picture both work unchanged.
