Oscillator
Oscillator is a Siceliot effect.
What it does
Section titled “What it does”Swings a value between Minimum and Maximum in a wave. Each copy Clone to points stamps sits at its own place on the wave, set by its number or by where it stands.
Wired into Clone to points’ own Scale, Rotation or Opacity, or into Label points’ Change, Label scale, Text step or Label rotation, it gives each stamp or label its own value, for up to 4096 points. In what a clone layer shows, it renders that layer once per copy, as Clone index does. Anywhere else it reads as the first copy of one.
Where a copy stands is known only when the driver is wired into those rows. Anywhere else it reads as the top left corner of the composition.

In the Effect Controls panel:
- Phase per copy is editable while Phase from is set to Copy.
- Wave angle is editable while Phase from is set to Position.
- Wavelength is editable while Phase from is set to Position.
What each control does
Section titled “What each control does”- Shape: the wave’s shape. A sine starts halfway between Minimum and Maximum, on its way up.
- Minimum: the bottom of the wave.
- Maximum: the top of the wave.
- Frequency: waves a second.
- Phase: where in the wave it starts.
- Phase per copy: how much further along the wave each copy is than the one before.
- Phase from: what sets each copy’s place on the wave. Copy goes by its number; Position goes by where it stands, so the wave crosses the points whatever order they come in.
- Wave angle: the direction the wave travels across the points. 0° runs left to right, 90° top to bottom.
- Wavelength: the distance from one crest to the next.
With Clone to points
Section titled “With Clone to points”On the layer that holds Clone to points, an Oscillator from 100 to 900 with Phase from on Position, wired into Clone to points’ Scale, sends a wave of size across a grid of copies. With Phase from on Copy and Phase per copy at 15°, the copies pulse one after another instead.
