Set channels is a Utility effect.
What it does
Section titled “What it does”Four dropdowns, one per output channel, each saying where that channel is fetched from: one of this layer’s own four channels or its brightness, the same five off a Source layer you pick, or flat on and flat off.

In the Effect Controls panel:
- Matte is an input to an effect, scaling the strength. Invert inverts the mattes for calculating strength.
What each control does
Section titled “What each control does”- Source: the other layer the five Source options read.
- Red from, Green from, Blue from, Alpha from: where each output channel comes from. Full on and Full off are 1 and 0 everywhere.
- Mix: how much of the result replaces the original.
- Matte and Invert drive the strength of the effect from another layer’s brightness; see Effects.
