Compressor
Compressor is an Audio effect.
What it does
Section titled “What it does”Turns the sound down once it is louder than the Threshold. The detector hears the louder of the two channels, so both are turned down together. Lookahead adds no delay: the layer’s sound is placed that much earlier.

What each control does
Section titled “What each control does”- Threshold: where compression starts, in dB.
- Ratio: how much of what goes past the threshold comes back, as n to 1.
- Knee: the dB either side of the threshold the curve bends over.
- Attack: how fast the reduction deepens, in milliseconds.
- Release: how fast it lets go again, in milliseconds.
- Makeup: gain put back after the compression, in dB.
- Detector: what the detector listens to: 0 peak, 1 RMS.
- Lookahead: how far ahead the detector hears, in milliseconds.
- Wet: how much of the compressed sound is in the output. Below 100 the untouched sound is mixed in beside it.
