What it does
Section titled “What it does”Measures the broadcast signal peak for every pixel. It can then pull pixels back to legal values, or display which pixels aren’t legal.

What each control does
Section titled “What each control does”- Standard: which television system’s signal is being measured.
- How to treat: what happens to a pixel that is over the limit.
- Reduce brightness darkens until it fits, keeping colour.
- Reduce saturation drains colour until it fits, keeping brightness.
- Key out unsafe removes illegal pixels and leaves transparent holes.
- Key out safe removes legal ones, leaving only illegal pixels.
- Maximum signal: the largest total allowed, in IRE.
- Mix: how much of the result replaces the original.
- Matte and Invert drive the strength of the effect from another layer’s brightness; see Effects.
