Repeat start

Repeat start is a Compositing effect.

Repeat start marks the first of the boxes a Repeat end runs several times. It is a box in a node graph composition and is not offered on a layer’s stack. Its picture is what each time starts from, and its Index, Count, Normalised and Random sockets hand each time numbers of its own. A Repeat start with no Repeat end hands its picture on.

With the Repeat end’s For on Each point, the boxes run once for each point wired into Points. On Each path, once for each path wired into Shapes from a Read box of a composition.

SeedSeedAny whole numberA fresh random seed per instance-
  • Index: which time it is, counting from 0.
  • Count: how many times there are.
  • Normalised: how far through the times it is, 0 the first time and 1 the last.
  • Random: a number from 0 to 1 of each time’s own.
  • X and Y: where this time’s point or path is, in the graph’s pixels. A path’s is the middle of the box round it.
  • Size: the point’s size, or the longer side of the box round the path.
  • Rotation: the point’s rotation, in degrees. Nought for a path.
  • Colour: the point’s colour. White for a path.
  • Seed: which numbers Random gives.
