In the Effect Controls panel:

  • Matte scales Wave height per pixel: white slides the full height, grey less, black not at all. Invert reads that matte inverted.
  • Wave type: the shape of the wave.
  • Wave height: how far the picture displaces at a crest.
  • Direction: the direction the wave travels.
  • Pinning: which edges of the frame are unaffected.
  • Mix: how much of the result replaces the original.
  • Matte and Invert drive the strength of the effect from another layer’s brightness; see Effects.
