Gamma is a Colour effect.

Adjust the gamma of the input, which effectively adjusts the curve to bend around mid-grey and leaves whites and blacks untouched.

In the Effect Controls panel:

  • Matte pulls Gamma toward 1 per pixel: white applies the full Gamma, grey a gentler curve, black none. Invert reads that matte inverted.
  • Gamma is the amount to bend the mid-tone by.
  • Mix: how much of the result replaces the original.
  • Matte and Invert drive the strength of the effect from another layer’s brightness; see Effects.
