Clone index is a Drivers effect.
What it does
Section titled “What it does”Sits anywhere in what a clone layer shows: the layer’s own graph, the layers of a precomp it shows and the precomps inside that, or a node graph any of them shows or applies. Clone to points then draws that layer once per stamp, and each copy reads its own number here. It has four sockets: Index, the copy’s number counted from 0, Count, how many copies there are, Normalised, 0 at the first copy and 1 at the last, and Random, a roll of the copy’s own from 0 to 1.
Anywhere else, the layer drawn on its own included, it reads as the first copy of one.
Clone to points draws at most 32 copies with a number of their own. Stamps past that share them in turn.
